With 240 stores in 40 countries, the Roche Bobois brand is among the world leaders of high-end furniture. Following the rhythm of fashion and haute couture collections, Roche Bobois renews its collections twice a year.
Since the beginning of the establishment of the brand, Roche Bobois has developed its collections in close collaboration with confirmed or emergent talented designers, architects and creators. Furniture and accessories have always been designed to be both beautiful and functional, in order to be in line with the core value of Roche Bobois: the design for living .
Roche Bobois has also always shown interest in the work of designers of foreign origins and inspirations. To pursue this tradition, the brand organizes a biannual itinerant design contest. Each new edition will take us to a different destination. The Roche Bobois Design Award 2009 has chosen to travel to the Orient and welcomes talented designers from China to take part in this first edition.
The winning projects, selected by the jury, will be presented at the Roche Bobois 2010 Spring International Congress, giving them the opportunity to become part of the Roche Bobois collection and to be distributed throughout its network across the world.

Nature as fusion between the Orient and the Occident
Nature is the common denominator of humanity. Overriding the cultural, regional and language differences, nature unites everything and everyone.
Inspired by nature, the submitted designs will have to express the relationships between these different cultures. This fusion between Orient and Occident inspirations will be like a poem, without the barrier of language and distance, telling everyone the essence of Designed for You.
