• Selection and Awards

The jury will select


•   50 Nominated Awards

  • •   8 Winning Awards (professional designers and artists or students), i.e. 2 per category.
    •   4 Student Awards

 

i.The 50 Nominated Awards will be honored with the following rewards:


•    A certificate issued by organizer committee
•   The project and his author will be presented in the catalogue <The Collection of Nominated Projects at the Roche Bobois Design Award-2009 China>published by the organizer committee. This catalogue will be distributed throughout Roche Bobois’s international network of stores, during the itinerant exhibition, via the promotion campaigns, on the Roche Bobois Design Award website and through the Chinese & European media partners.

•   Featuring in the itinerant exhibition and promotion campaign in the major cities of China.

•   The opportunity to take part in the "European Design Trip": visits of the Roche Bobois’s headquarters in Paris and of the factories. Meetings with renowned European designers. The costs will however be at the winners’ expenses.

  • ii. In addition to the rewards for the Nominees (above point i), the 8 Winning Awards (two awards per category) will be honored with:

  • •   Participation in the "European Design Trip” at the expense of the executive organizer
  • •   Prototyping of the project in Europe (costs borne by the executive organizer)
  • • The presentation of the prototypes at the Roche Bobois 2010 Spring International Congress. At this occasion the prototypes will be given to opportunity to be become part of the Roche Bobois collection and be distributed through its international network. The prototypes of the winning projects will be manufactured in Europe

  • iii.The 4 Student Awards (one per category) will receive:

•   A certificate issued by the organizer committee
•  5000 RMB
  • • The opportunity to take part in the "European Design Trip": visit of the Roche Bobois headquarters in Paris, the factories and meetings with European renowned designers. The costs of this trip will be at the winners’ expense.

    •  

    The jury and the selection committees’ decisions are sovereign. They have full freedom to not justify their decisions, are entitled, if necessary, not to select the anticipated number of candidates or not to allocate all the rewards. Their decisions will not be subject to appeal. The jury also reserves the right to grant a special recognition to any project they may select.


    Roche Bobois will edit the 8 projects awarded if, when presented, they are chosen by the Roche Bobois 2010 Spring International Congress. An editing agreement for the projects will then be proposed to the concerned designer. Otherwise, the projects will be considered free for public release.


    Itinerant Exhibition

    The Winning Award’s prototypes and photos of the winners will be presented at an Itinerant Exhibition in China’s main cities during the summer 2010.
