侯瀚如
舊金山藝術學院展覽及公共項目總監及展覽與博物館學研究主席
国际知名艺术及文化评论人兼策展人侯瀚如,今年获法国政府受勋,以表扬其对业界之贡献。在全球普及化的时代,候氏致力寻求艺术、建筑、都市主义及社会变迁上的互动关系。候氏的评论及写作均属高度实验性的作品,为了展望文化创作的新条件,他积极与专家们及不同范畴的人士倾力合作,以寻求全球和本土主义之间的过去、现在与未来之矛盾与相互影响。
在旧金山艺术学院的期间,侯氏独力或合作策划了多个展览,包括近期在爱尔兰举办的「Too Early for Vacation, EV + A 2008」及伊斯坦堡的「Not Only Possible, But Also Necessary – Optimism in The Age of Global Wars, The 10th Istanbul Biennial」。
侯氏曾于多间国际级学府任教,并为国际性的艺术及建筑奖项担任评审。他亦曾于荷兰Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten及比利时HISK担任教授一职,更曾任纽约古根汉博物馆Asian Art Council的会员、Istanbul Culture Foundation伊斯坦堡双年展之国际委员,以及Japan Foundation横滨三年展之
委员。
现为阿姆斯特丹De Appel Foundation的咨询委员、美国明尼苏达州Walker Arts Center的环球咨询委员的候氏,也是《Flash ArtInternational》的驻法国记者及数本杂志的客席编辑。他更经常为展览场刊、艺术及建筑杂志和书籍撰文。2002年,Timezone 8于北京和香港出版了其著作《On The Mid-Ground》。
侯氏分别于1985及1988年在北京中央美术学院取得学习及硕士学位。

Hou Han-ru is well established as one of the world’s premier art and culture critics and curators. His main work has been focused on the dynamic relationship amongst art, architecture, urbanism and social change in the age of globalisation. Collaborating closely with professionals and various domains from the public, his curatorial and writing projects are highly experimental and seek to propose new understandings of the tension and interactions between globalism and locality as well as between history, present and future, in order to envision new conditions for cultural production.
At the San Francisco Art Institute, he has independently curated or co-curated numerous exhibitions including the recent ‘Too Early for Vacation, EV + A 2008’ (Ireland), and ‘Not Only Possible, But Also
Necessary – Optimism in The Age of Global Wars, The 10th Istanbul Biennial’(Istanbul).
Hou has lectured in numerous international institutions and served on international juries for art and architecture awards. Among his other roles he has also served as a Professor at the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten (Netherlands) and at the HISK (Belgium). He was a member of the Asian Art Council at the Solomon Guggenheim Museum(New York), the International Committee of Istanbul Biennial at the Istanbul Culture Foundation (Turkey), and a member of the Yokohama Triennial committee for the Japan Foundation.
He was a member of the advisory committee of De Appel Foundation in Amsterdam and the global advisory committee of Walker Arts Center in Minneapolis. Hou is also French correspondent of Flash
Art International and guest editor for several magazines as well as a frequent contributor to exhibition catalogues, art and architecture magazines and books.
In 2002 his book On The Mid-Ground was published by Timezone 8 in Beijing and Hong Kong.
He received his Masters from the Central Academy of Fine Arts, Beijing in 1988 and his Bachelor’s degree in 1985.
