Irma Boom Office创办人

Irma Boom是平面设计界中地位极祟高的创作人。Boom以阿姆斯特丹为基地,尤其擅长于书籍制作。她的盛名之作乃其为庆祝荷兰十大企业之一的SHV Holdings成立一百周年而设计,厚达 2,136页的书籍《SHV Think Book 1996-1896》,该书以英文及中文两种版本发行。

1991年,她创办了Irma Boom Office,并活跃于本土及国际的文化界与商界,其客户包括阿姆斯特丹国立博物馆、Paul Fentener van Vlissingen (由1990-2006年)、荷兰室内设计公司Inside Outside、纽约The Museum of Modern Art、奥地利照明效果设计公司Zumtobel、法拉利、国际级家具公司Vitra International、NAi Publishers、联合国、荷兰建筑公司OMA/Rem Koolhaas、荷兰陶器制造商Koninklijke Tichelaar Makkum、瑞士日内瓦的Aga Khan Foundation、著名鞋履品牌Camper、纽约的Yale Press London/Bard Graduate Centre,以及Prince Claus Fund。

在成立Irma Boom Office之前,Boom曾于荷兰海牙的Dutch Government Publishing and Printing Office工作了五年。自1992年起,Boom便于耶鲁大学担任评论家,更于全球各地授课及举办设计工作坊。凭借Boom于书籍设计上的造诣,令她屡获殊荣。她更是首位最年轻的设计师获得业内备受推祟的「Gutenberg Prize」。

Boom常被邀请为不同的比赛担任评审,更是阿姆斯特丹Gerrit Rietveld Academy的监事会成员及Premsela Foundation的董事局成员。Boom曾于业界取得无数几项,她在2007年凭Sheila Hicks的《Weaving as Metaphor》分别赢得德国莱比钖的Sch?nste Bücher Aller Welt之「Gold Medaille」奖项及Red Dot Award的「Best of the Best」殊荣。此外,亦凭Inside Outside/Petra Blaisse及Sur Palce的Fortis Art Collection于今年赢得两个「CPNB Prize」奖项。

Founder of Irma Boom Office

Based in Amsterdam, Irma Boom is one of the most well known names in the field of graphic design
specialising in making books. Her most famous work was the 2,136-page book SHV Think Book 1996-1896, celebrating 100 years of SHV. It was commissioned by SHV Holdings in Utrecht and published in both English and Chinese.

She founded Irma Boom office in 1991 and it works both nationally and internationally across both the
cultural and commercial sectors. Its clients include the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam, Paul Fentener van
Vlissingen (1990-2006), Inside Outside, The Museum of Modern Art in New York, Zumtobel, Ferrari,
Vitra International, NAi Publishers, United Nations, OMA/Rem Koolhaas, Koninklijke Tichelaar Makkum. Aga Khan Foundation (Geneva), Camper (Majorca), Yale Press London/Bard Graduate Centre (New York) and the Prince Claus Fund.

Prior to founding the Irma Boom office she worked for five years at the Dutch Government Publishing and Printing Office in The Hague. Since 1992 Boom has been a critic at Yale University and gives lectures and workshops world wide. She has been the recipient of many awards for her book designs and was the youngest ever Laureate to receive the prestigious Gutenberg prize for her complete oeuvre.

She has been asked to judge competitions and sit on such committees as the Member Supervisory Board Gerrit Rietveld Academy, Amsterdam and the Member Board Premsela Foundation, Amsterdam. She recently won the 2007 Gold Medaille, Sch?nste Bücher Aller Welt, Leipzig (Sheila Hicks, Weaving as Metaphor), the 2007 Red Dot Award, Best of the Best (Sheila Hicks, Weaving as
Metaphor), the 2008 CPNB Prize (Inside Outside/Petra Blaisse) and the 2008 CPNB Prize (Sur Palce, Fortis Art Collection).
