Designer, Developer and President
Taubman Asia
Morgan Parker, designer and president of Taubman Asia, has spent more than 13 years in Asia developing landmark luxury real estate projects. Having lived and worked in China, Indonesia, Australia, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan and now Hong Kong, he has a deep perspective on how his industry works throughout the region, and the elements of design that contribute to successful luxury retail spaces.
Parker’s projects continue the historic design traditions of Taubman Centers, the world’s most experienced luxury retail developer, which has developed more retail space than any other company. With planning and design at its core, and an uncompromising passion to create the most intuitive venues imaginable, Taubman now has the most productive retail portfolio in the United States, and has been a leader in the world’s most competitive consumer market for almost 60 years.
Taubman Asia, a subsidiary of Taubman Centers, is focused on developing, owning, and managing high-quality and sustainable retail projects in Asia that leverage Taubman’s strong retail design and
development capabilities. Taubman Asia has two signature projects under development – the Mall at Studio City in Macau and the Songdo shopping center outside of Seoul, Korea. Due to open in 2011, both represent ‘firsts’ in their respective markets and will become dominant venues for the world’s leading retailers.
With an architect father, Parker was surrounded by design and construction from an early age. Even as a scholarship law student, he seemed destined for the world of real estate. Now a designer in his own right, he has worked with leading architects such as Norman Foster, Daniel Libeskind, Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP, KPF Associates, Nikken Sekki and most recently with Renzo Piano in Korea.
Due to his expertise, Parker has been asked to speak at over 80 conferences globally, been featured
in over 100 news, lifestyle and industry articles, and is a respected figure for the luxury retail and real
estate industry.
