Edward Uhlir

設計、建築和規劃顧問及教授

Edward Uhlir为芝加哥著名的设计、建筑及规划顾问专家,负责统筹多项大型计划,包括Millennium Park Inc.、City of Chicago以及Trust for Public Land。

Chicago-based Edward Uhlir is a noted design, architecture and planning expert and consultant, having overseen a variety of high profile projects for Millennium Park Inc., the City of Chicago and the Trust for Public Land.

His role as executive director of the not-for-profit Millennium Park Incorporated (MPI) involves assisting with the park’s continued development, directing and designing continued improvements, and representing MPI with Chicago’s Mayor, various government agencies, the public and the press. He is an authority on park design and development and has lectured the world over about the subject and the creation of Millennium Park. Through his leadership, Millennium Park has received over 40 awards including the 2008 American Society of Landscape Architects Honor Award for the Lurie Garden, the 2006 American Institute of Architects Honor Award for Regional and Urban Design, and the 2005 Global Award from the Urban Land Institute and the FIABCI Prix d’Excellence Honor Award.

Uhlir has more than 40 years’ experience in architectural design, previously holding the position of director of research and planning at the Chicago Park District. He is currently a professor at the Illinois Institute of Technology.

Uhlir is a fellow of the American Institute of Architects and a recipient of its Distinguished Service Award Edward Uhlir In 1999. He is a board member and treasurer of NeighborSpace and is a Member of the Chicago Mayor’s Parks and Open Space Committee. Personal awards include the Barrier Free America Award from the Paralyzed Veterans of America, the Burnham Award for Excellence in Planning from the Metropolitan Planning Council, the American Society of Landscape Architects National Honor Award for the Lincoln Park Framework Plan, the Chicago Civic Federation Urban Innovation Award and the Friends of Downtown Mary Ward Wolkonsky Award for Lifetime Achievement.

Uhlir holds a Bachelor of Art’s degree in architectural design from the School of Architecture at the University of Illinois, Chicago and received the Alumni Associations City Partner Award in 2002.
