Young Zhang
Young Zhang, studied Architecture and Urban Design at Harvard University and University of Toronto.
As an architect, Young seeks experimental and cutting edge approaches forward broad contemporary phenomenon. He found questioning established “rules” and “orders”, and discovering “Possibility” out of “Impossible” is extremely interesting. He worked with Rem Koolhaas at OMA Rotterdam office in 2006, took in charge of some OMA’s major projects, such as Shenzhen Stock Exchange Tower. Young started his own practice ‘iNgAmE Office’ in Boston, and then relocated himself in Shenzhen on 2007. iNgAmE is one of the most active architectural practice in Shenzhen.
Besides professional practice, Young constantly involve in independent researches and stay close with academia. He taught at Harvard Design School 2005, AA school of Architecture in London 2007, and at Hong Kong University & Hong Kong Chinese University 2008. As a visiting professor, He is teaching at Shenzhen University for thesis students.
Young arranged Urban Conscious –Independent Architects Exhibition 2008 at Shenzhen Exhibition Hall. In 2009, he is appointed the curator of the 2009 Shenzhen Biennale of Urbanism and Architecture.
