Italian Trade Commission
(ICE)
Established in 1926, the
Italian Trade Commission
(ICE) is a government
agency – acting under
the supervision of the
Ministry for Economic
Development – entrusted
with the promotion
of Italian exports and
foreign trade through a
network of 115 offices in
86 countries.
ICE has been active in
the People’s Republic of
China since 1965, before
diplomatic relations with
the Italian Republic were
re-established. It has offices
in Beijing, Shanghai,
Hong Kong, Guangzhou,
Chengdu, Tianjin and
Nanjing, which provide a
wide array of information,
assistance and promotional
services to Italian
and Chinese companies
who wish to establish
commercial or industrial
partnerships.
ICE organizes promotional
events in China on an
almost daily basis. Some
of these touch upon the
themes of the Beijing
Architectural Biennial.
To name but a few, Italy
has participated as Focus
and Partner Country in
the Hong Kong Business
of Design Week (2007),
and in the Shanghai Contemporary
art fair (2007),
organized in association
with Bologna Fiere. In
the same year, Italy
participated in the China
International Environmental
Protection Exhibition
and organized the Italian
Excellences exhibition
