The artificial stone has strong plasticity with certain light transmission. Nowadays, there are some mature technologies to transform the artificial stone, such as seamless connection, pouring, and carving. This work is intended to explore the possibility of artificial stone, try the best efforts to conform to the material, and show the natural beauty of it.
The installation adopts the shell form, according with the logic of structure, and the triangle mesh structure complying with its stressed condition to be reinforcing rib. Wherefore the material can withstand its own weight and there is no need to add internal assistant structure.
The triangular surface of this installation is concave or convex, and the LED lights are set inside. Due to the difference in thickness and light transmittance of the artificial stone, the installation performs diverse and rhythmic texture. All of these show the light transmission of the artificial stone.
What’s more, we do not limit the function of the installation, and it can be regarded as sculpture, chair, light, and so on.
人造石拥有很强的可塑性,具备一定的透光性,现有着成熟的无缝粘结技术,浇筑技术,雕刻技术。此作品意在探求人造石的材料可能性,尽最大努力顺应材料特性,展示材料本身的自然美。
整个装置采用壳体形式,符合结构逻辑,且三角形网状顺应结构受力,成为加强筋,由此材料能够承受自身重量,无需在内部增加辅助结构。
装置表面的三角形内凹或外凸,在装置内部设置LED灯带,由于材料厚度不一,透光率各异,形成富有变化又有韵律的肌理,充分体现了材料所具备的透光性。
我们并没有限制装置的功能,可以将其作为雕塑,椅子,灯,亦或是其他。
